Open Forest Protocol Welcomes Fundo Exuberante to Its Platform
INARSAC’s agroforestry project, supported by Lush Cosmetics, joins Open Forest Protocol to enhance digital monitoring and impact reporting for environmental sustainability.
[Zug, Switzerland, April 3th 2025] – Open Forest Protocol (OFP), a pioneering digital platform for forest and ecosystem monitoring, is excited to announce a new collaboration with INARSAC, an agroforestry company supported by Lush Cosmetics. This partnership will integrate INARSAC’s afforestation and agroforestry project—Fundo Exuberante—into OFP’s digital monitoring platform, providing valuable tools for tracking environmental impact and long-term land regeneration.
INARSAC, founded in 2018, specializes in supplying natural and organic inputs to the cosmetic industry, among others, with a focus on traceability and environmental responsibility. The company’s flagship projects, including the Fundo Exuberante in the Peruvian jungle of Madre de Dios, address critical issues such as deforestation and biodiversity loss. Fundo Exuberante covers 200 hectares, focusing on forest regeneration and agroforestry with native species, including Brazil nut and shihuahuaco trees. It also includes initiatives like the recovery of the endangered rosewood species (Aniba roseadora) and sustainable cultivation of cupuaçu.
Through this collaboration, OFP’s platform will provide INARSAC with digital tools to track and report on key indicators of ecosystem restoration. The integration of remote sensing, community-led data collection, and blockchain technology ensures that project progress is documented transparently, allowing stakeholders to see the tangible impact of restoration efforts.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with Open Forest Protocol to enhance the monitoring of our project in Peru,” said Nerea (Buxton) Escribano, Project Coordinator of Lush’s Sourcing Hubs. “This partnership is a significant step in using our resources to drive meaningful environmental impact. Open Forest Protocol provides an efficient, scalable solution for projects like ours by facilitating access to transparent and reliable digital monitoring tools. Their model reduces administrative burdens while ensuring that our restoration efforts are effectively tracked and reported.”
Jeremy Epstein, Head of Growth at Open Forest Protocol, added, “Partnering with INARSAC aligns with our mission to make forest monitoring accessible, transparent, and scalable for projects of all sizes. We are excited to support agroforestry initiatives that benefit both the environment and local communities.”
The collaboration highlights Lush’s commitment to moving beyond responsible purchasing by investing in ethical agriculture that regenerates degraded land and supports local communities. It reflects Lush's dedication to ensuring a stable, transparent supply chain for its products while promoting long-term sustainability.
